I am Chartered MCIPD HR professional, and an experienced Global Manager of Talent Acquisition, who started her HR career as a generalist.
I fell into HR by accident. My manager had been made redundant and I wanted to make sure that he was exited with dignity and respect, so I walked into the HR office, and told the team just that! The HR Manager took an instant like to my assertiveness, and offered me a role within the team. It took me a few weeks to ponder on whether or not this was what I wanted, as my background at the time was as a Personal Assistant (known as BA’s today!).
So my HR career began as an Administrator, went to Leeds Met to study for my CIPD on an evening, whilst working full time, and my career went from strength to strength; gaining the respect of my internal clients, and my HR Directors, and I have no regrets about the career path I took into HR. I have fully earned my stripes and have loved every minute of the journey my career has taken me.
I have a great reputation of sorting things out, without fuss or noise. “Trisha there is a problem with recruitment in the US” ….and so off I went to Chicago for a few months to put in place processes and systems, and then returned to Europe and was asked to do the same there. Always ready to roll my sleeves up and get stuck in.
Highlights in my career include the Chicago experience, and the 5 months I spent in Krakow recruiting a team of 120 telesales and telemarketing staff, with 24 different languages, for a new venture in Poland.
I have made lots of friends and contacts globally, who are always there to support and refer people to me, knowing I provide a great candidate experience and professional service to my clients.
In my spare time I love to walk in Gods own country – aka the Yorkshire Dales. Regardless of the weather, it’s great to be out in the open space, and my grandchildren like to tag along too. Spending quality time with my family is important to me, and having things like Face time and Skype, make working away from them so much easier.
I love social media, and fully utilise this to network, and stay in contact with my family in Italy and Australia.
Overall, I’m am a truly self-motivated and results driven with a proven ability to work on my own initiative, someone who is HILEY organised with great attention to detail, and just Human!
My grandchildren describe me as being funny; fun to be with; someone who makes them laugh; great coach and teacher, and someone who cares and respects others. Great testimony to have!
